Policies and Procedures

Welcome to JBG Educational Group! We are pleased you have chosen to partner with us, and we look forward to working with you. You will find the answers to some of our most commonly asked questions below.

Q: How long do sessions usually last?

A: Tutoring sessions usually range from 1.5 to 2 hours and take place one or more times per week, depending upon need. Sessions may be longer if the client wishes. The length and frequency of tutoring sessions will be established between the client and the assigned tutor. The tutor and client will agree upon a schedule that accommodates the client’s needs.

Q: How will I be billed?

A: Clients are billed bi-weekly and will receive their invoices at the email address that they provided to JBG. Payments are due no later than 28 days after date of issue. All tutoring and consulting invoices can be paid online through the jbgeducationalgroup.com website or mailed to: JBG Educational Group, PO BOX 146, Dover, MA 02030. Please note that we only charge credit cards for past due payments. You may pay independently with your credit card on our website or mail us a check.

Q: What is JBG’s cancellation policy?

A: All tutors will confirm appointments by phone or email with their clients. However, if a client cancels within 24 hours of an appointment, he/she will be billed a $75 cancellation fee. To avoid this fee, clients should provide their tutors with at least 24 hours notice of any cancellation. This will grant the tutors adequate time to rearrange their schedules. If three scheduled sessions are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, the third and any subsequent cancellations will be charged for the entire scheduled session at full cost.

Q: How will I know how my child’s tutoring session went?

A: The last five minutes of each tutoring session should be set aside for client/tutor communication. During this time, the tutor will debrief the client on what was accomplished during the tutoring session and express any concerns he/she has about the student’s academic standing. Any client with concerns or complaints about his/her assigned tutor should contact the office directly at 508-242-5197. Please direct your concerns to Marcia Felix or Sarah Waters.

Q: Do you guarantee results?

A: JBG cannot and does not guarantee that any student will achieve certain grades or test/exam scores, including standardized test scores, or gain acceptance to a particular college or university. While we do our absolute best to improve academic performance, there are inevitably circumstances beyond our control that will affect the ultimate result. We will always be honest regarding how your child is progressing and if we feel we are not making a difference, we will provide other options outside our network.

Q: What do you do with my information?

A: We will always respect your privacy. Any information revealed to JBG Educational Group by our clients regarding educational needs, emotional needs, family history, student’s personality, academic history, learning disabilities, and any past diagnosis will be kept strictly confidential within JBG Educational Group and will not be revealed to any person or agency without your written permission. We rely on the client to provide complete and accurate information to us regarding the student’s academic history and progress. Privacy rules preclude many institutions from disclosing a student’s records to any third party, including JBG Educational Group. As such, we cannot and do not attempt to independently verify information that parents or students may provide.
